Stay Curious

On My Own is a program for children who are age 2 years and seven months by August 31st.  All classes are held from September through May. These older toddlers are developing autonomy and beginning to declare their independence. This is a time of rapid growth as they are busy learning language, social skills, how to control their impulses, and how to move their bodies with more coordination. They will have lots of opportunities to make choices, try new activities, and develop social relationships.  This class prepares them to attend our two day program the following year. Each class offers activities such as self directed learning centers, music, books, circle time, Bible stories and snack. They also get a chance to enjoy the playground or gym to develop their gross motor skills.

For Christmas and Valentine’s Day, the children have a celebration in the classroom with treats provided by the parents.  We do not invite parents to these occasions in order that the children will grow in confidence in being separated. On My Own will have a party or event at the end of the year. The parents are invited to join the class to celebrate the children’s growth and development of the past nine months.
